We've been hard at work behind the scenes, and we appreciate everyone's patience. You might have noticed the graphic below and the name change of the event. We'll explain that in a moment.

We're so amazed by the amount of support this event has received. The number of emails, private messages, comments, and post shares across all our social media accounts has been beyond anything we ever dreamed of, but it's also made us hypervigilant to make sure no author slipped through the cracks.

Because of this, we've created an event Facebook group only for authors, and we ask each author who wants to participate in the event to please join it. In the group, we've posted complete instructions on what information to provide us, how to provide it, and what to do between now and Oct 31. Readers, do not join this group!

Please note, authors not participating in the group will not be posted in the Terrify Your Tablet database, and any non-authors who join the group will be removed.

Readers, we've listened to your concerns! We are working on a database of sorts that will allow you to search the books by sub-genre and by book distribution platform. Because this is not a Kindle-specific event, we're renaming the event "Terrify Your Tablet."

Yes, for those of us who have shared this event far and wide, it might be a little confusing to make the switch. But our goal is inclusivity and making sure every horror author and reader has a voice in this event. This isn't a Horrorsmith Publishing event, not in the grand scheme of things. Since I have had multiple new followers to my editing page, I wanted to reintroduce myself to the community.

A couple of years ago, I made the decision to follow a dream, a calling. I researched, studied, worried, fretted, planned, executed...but most importantly, I hoped. And thus, Horrorsmith Editing Services was born.

Since then, I've worked with a kaleidoscope of writers across horror, thriller, dark fantasy, and high fantasy. Some have been self-published, and others have obtained publishing contracts. Some are just beginning their publishing journeys, while others are already best-selling, award-winning authors. I've learned so much from each of them and have molded my editing business accordingly—the goal, to provide the most comprehensive, quality editing packages I possibly can.

I don't consider my day a success unless the authors I work with walk away from our project with more knowledge than they came with, a greater love for their craft, and more confidence in themselves. And I achieve this through extensive industry knowledge, detailed Tracked Changes and comments throughout all edits, and open communication with my clients that extends even after the project is complete. My support does not stop once the final invoice is paid. With me as part of your team, you are never in this alone.

When choosing an editor, credentials and/or experience are important. But I would argue that the MOST important criteria should be someone that you trust, that you vibe with. Choose the editor that feels like a trusted friend, a partner, and enjoy the experience!
